ABOUT

With her boundless creative energy and impressive list of collaborators, Guinevere van Seenus has endured as one of fashion’s most exciting and unique models.

Born in Boston, MA to dutch immigrant parents, Guinevere attended primary school in Washington, D.C., before moving to Santa Barbara, CA for high school where she enrolled in a local model agency at the encouragement of her mother. After signing with Elite LA, she eventually moved to London, then Paris where she was introduced to creative director, Marc Ascoli and began a series of incredible working relationships with Paolo Roversi, Craig McDean, David Sims and many more.

In 1995, Guinevere landed her first major cover and editorial spread in Italian Vogue, photographed by the incomparable Steven Meisel. Shortly thereafter, she became the face of Jil Sander and was featured on her first cover for W Magazine, photographed by Mario Testino. She then went on to work fervently for publications such as i-D, Interview, Harper’s Bazaar, Allure and Vogue.

Almost two and a half decades followed with Guinevere featured in noteworthy campaigns for luxury brands such as Bottega Veneta, Chanel, Miu Miu, Prada and Versace amongst others. A series of influential fragrance campaigns for creative giants such as Alexander McQueen, Azzedine Alaia, John Galliano, and Marc Jacobs fortified her legacy.

Paolo Roversi dedicated an entire exhibit to Guinevere at Pace Gallery, New York in 2008.

After years of being in front of the lens, Guinevere (who as an adolescent had a voracious creative spirit in a multitude of mediums) felt herself pulled back to a more hands-on role in the creative process. She returned to school, graduating from the International Center of Photography, also taking classes in prosthetic and theater makeup, while exploring jewelry, hand-embroidery and ceramics.

As a photographer and artist, Guinevere has contributed to-date to influential publications such as Self-Service, Public, Cero and various Vogue titles. An upcoming artist exhibit in London celebrating Alexander McQueen's Fall 2022 collection includes several pieces by Guinevere.
